Delahunty & Harley are a medium sized architectural and design practice providing a personal service to private, commercial and legal clients. Set up in 1981, the office employs a number of qualified architects in addition to the two partners, Jimmy Delahunty and Joan Harley. Jimmy is a Fellow of the R.I.A.I. The partners are directly involved in all work undertaken and the practice priority is to balance attention to client requirements with practical, cost effective and quality design.
We have completed a diverse range of residential projects, each of which receives personal attention at every work stage. Throughout each project, from initial design through detail drawings and specification, client involvement and focused site meetings inform all design decisions. Our projects include apartment and mixed developments, one-off housing, mews developments and interventions such as extensions, conversions and renovations, in both contemporary and traditional styles.
View ProjectsWe have carried out projects within the hospitality sector from sporting clubs (notably Milltown Golf Club) to clubs. Our major interventions in pubs and resturaunts include the the O’Sullivans chain in Paris, Montpellier and, most recently, the Meribel ski resort and Juan Les Pins. Joan Harley specialises in commercial interiors, custom designed furniture and lighting solutions. We design for and provide services to a number of religious and educational clients. We also have experience in the service industry, shops and offices.
View ProjectsThe office has almost 40 years experience of working with Protected Structures. James Delahunty and the practice are “Conservation Accredited Grade 3" with the RIAI. We have particular expertise in the refurbishment of Victorian buildings, including a former Taoiseach's private home in Rathgar. In addition we have worked on large-scale conservation projects at the former Parcels Office in Amiens Street and commercial redevelopments in South William Street and Ely Place.

We prepare statutory documentation for planning, fire safety, disability access, conveyancing and licensing purposes.
